The Debre Tsion Kidist Mariam Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church
has been serving the Ethiopian community in London since it
was founded by a small group of the faithful in 1976. The
Church has since grown in size and in the scope of the services
it renders to Ethiopians. The church has performed countless
Christenings, Weddings, Funeral and Memorial services.
It has conducted the Divine Liturgy of the Holy Mass on every
Sunday, and has offered Holy Communion, Confession, and the
teachings of the Holy Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Faith. Maskal
(Feast of the Holy Cross), Christmas, Good Friday, and Easter
are celebrated according to the Orthodox Calendar, in the
ancient manner of the Ethiopian Church.
At
present, the Church is conducting a fund raising effort in
order to purchase it's own building to serve as it's permanent
home. The task is daunting considering the high cost of properties
in London, however, with a strong faith in Our Lord, all things
are possible, and the efforts are well under way. We invite
all to come and visit us, the faithful to pray with us, and
the interested to learn about our faith, our culture and our
history by attending our services.
Please
help us achieve our goal of purchasing a building for our
congregation by making donations. Our account details are

OUR
FAITH:
Debre
Tsion Kidist Mariam Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in
London is a follower of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church
faith. The Ethiopian Orthodox Church is one of the oldest
churches in the world and shares a common faith with the Oriental
Orthodox family of the Armenian, Egyptian, Syrian and Indian
(Malankara) churches.
We believe: in one God the Father almighty, maker of heaven,
earth and all things visible and invisible. And we believe
in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of the Father
who was with Him before the creation of the world:Light from
light, true God from true God, begotten not made, of one essence
with the Father: By whom all things were make, and without
Him was not anythings in heaven or earth made: Who for us
men and for our salvation came down from heaven, was made
man and was incarnate from the Holy Spirit and from the holy
Virgin Mary. Became man, was crucified for our sakes in the
days of Pontius Pilate, suffered, died, was buried and rose
from the dead on the third day as as written in the holy scriptures:
Ascended in glory into heaven, sat at the right hand of His
Father, and will come again in glory to judge the living and
the dead; there is no end of His reign. And we believe in
the Holy Spirit, the life-giving God, who proceedeth from
the Father; we worship and glorify Him with the Father and
the Son; who spoke by the prophets; And we believe in on holy,
universal, apostolic church, And we believe in one baptism
for the remission of sins, and wait for the resurrection from
the dead and the life to come, world without end.
Amen
